Main duties of the job
Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Consultant and members of the multi-disciplinary team to assist in the smooth, efficient and effective running of the Vascular Service.

To ensure application of best practice admin standards across the Vascular service to include RTT, typing times and follow up waiting lists (FOWLs)

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a modern District General Hospital serving a catchment population of 250,000 with 400 beds. All main acute DGH specialties are on site including ED, ITU, CCU, general medicine, paediatrics, general surgery, vascular surgery, orthopaedics, O & G and the Dorset sub-regional Renal Unit.
The Vascular Surgery department has 2 full time consultant surgeons who operate at Dorset County Hospital and also work at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, The team also has Specialist Nurse who supports the consultant staff.

Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English at Grade C or above
* RSA stage III Word-processing or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* At least two years secretarial experience within the last 4 years in a Healthcare setting
* Experience of working with computer systems, to include Microsoft Office and PAS
* Experience of working with staff at all levels
* Experience of setting up, developing and maintaining systems both manual and electronic
Skills & Ability

* Evidence of secretarial skills including excellent audio typing and minute taking
* Evidence of ability to supervise and co-ordinate a team
