About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. Working closely with our General Ledger and Treasury Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day financial operations and support the preparation of accounts up to trial balance. We believe in the power of collaboration, this role requires a minimum of three days a week in the office, fostering teamwork, learning, and shared success.

What you'll do

1. Supporting month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, payroll costs, and fixed asset entries.
2. Preparing accurate balance sheet reconciliations and resolving outstanding items.
3. Producing timely, accurate financial information and assisting with audit schedules and statutory account preparation.
4. Collaborating with finance and operational teams to ensure compliance and data integrity.
5. Applying a keen eye for detail and strong Excel skills to maintain high-quality reporting.

What we're looking for

6. Proven experience in a finance or accounting role.
7. Solid understanding of general accountancy principles and procedures.
8. Experience reconciling control accounts and preparing accounts to trial balance.
9. Strong Excel and IT skills (familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is highly desirable).
10. Knowledge or experience of the care sector is an advantage
