Job Opportunity in Argyll and Bute
This is an excellent opportunity to work in Argyll and Bute within the Council’s Regulatory Services team in a very challenging yet beautiful part of Scotland. You will undertake the full range of environmental health enforcement, including public health and food safety, working with a team that faces unique challenges such as its rural geographical area, a large number of private water supplies, and a significant food manufacturing and export market.
The role requires managing your own district workload to ensure environmental health standards are met, with the ability to travel across the area to undertake operational work. This is a full-time, permanent position of 35 hours per week based in Dunoon, with consideration given to the possibility of being based in Helensburgh.
Benefits and Requirements
* Varied workload and hybrid working arrangements
* Opportunities for professional and personal development
* Paid membership subscription for the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS)
Applicants should hold the REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health. We welcome applications from those aiming to sit their professional interview in 2024 or early 2025. We also offer a career pathway and supported training for applicants who have received confirmation from REHIS regarding the equivalency of their qualifications.
