The Role We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager (Desk Based) to play a key role in driving growth across our global construction and engineering divisions. This is a strategic commercial role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment and enjoys building long-term client relationships that translate into sustainable business growth. You'll be responsible for identifying new project opportunities, developing client partnerships, and working closely with internal engineering and delivery teams to ensure client needs are met with precision and excellence. Key Responsibilities Research, identify and engage potential clients and decision-makers across global construction and engineering markets - including both onshore and offshore sectors. Develop and execute business development strategies to win new work and strengthen the company's international presence. Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and partners through regular contact and industry engagement. Collaborate with project and technical teams to shape proposals and ensure alignment between client needs and service delivery. Prepare and deliver high-impact sales presentations, tenders, and commercial proposals. Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities to inform business strategy. Consistently achieve and exceed agreed revenue and growth targets. Represent the company at key networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences worldwide. The Ideal Person Proven experience in business development, ideally within construction, engineering, or industrial sectors. Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels. Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not essential. Comfortable with occasional international travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
