Maintenance Technician (Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing) Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Our client is seeking a skilled and flexibleMaintenance Technician to join their dedicated team, delivering high-quality Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing services across all of their facilities.
In this role, you will support the effective and efficient operation of theirService by carrying out routine, non-routine, and emergency maintenance as well as minor works. Your contribution will help ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, supporting the ongoing delivery of exceptional healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and installations to a high standard, ensuring value for money and service reliability.
Deliver safe and effective maintenance across all plant, equipment, and service infrastructure within the healthcare setting.
Support the development of a responsive, customer-focused Estates function.
Work flexibly and collaboratively across disciplines as part of an integrated estates service.
Provide shift cover of up to 12 hours, including weekends and public holidays, to meet departmental needs.
Participate in a 24/7 emergency response rota, requiring cross-trade knowledge and competency.
Offer technical support to mechanical and electrical staff and contractors, ensuring adherence to our clients safety protocols across systems such as:
Low temperature hot water systems
Steam plant and associated equipment
Electrical distribution, power and lighting
Standby generators
On call systems
What Were Looking For:
Proven experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing maintenance within a complex environment.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and technical compliance requirements.
A team-oriented mindset with a flexible and proactive approach to service delivery.
Ability to work under pressure, particularly during emergency situations.
Qualifications and Training Requirements
Completion of a recognised and registered CITB or EITB apprenticeship in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
Possession of a National Certificate (BTEC), ONC, or SVQ Level 3/4, with progression towards a Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/HND) or equivalent.
Modern Apprenticeship (Level 4) or Professional Development Awards at SCQF Level 89 preferred.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, with additional post-apprenticeship training or equivalent experience.
Proven multi-skilling across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines, supported by formal multi-skilling training.
