The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Gower College Swansea for two dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our teams on a part-time, fixed-term basis, supporting students in their academic journey.

Vacancy A - Maternity cover
1. Part-time (25 - 30 hours per week across 4 days)
2. Term-time (36 weeks per annum)
3. Fixed term until 30th January
4. Based on 25 hours per week, the salary would be £13, - £13, per annum
5. Tycoch Campus

6. Part-time (30 hours per week across 5 days)
7. Term-time (36 weeks per annum)
8. Fixed term until 31st August
9. £15, - £16, per annum
10. Jubilee Court Campus (Fforestfach)
Vacancy C
11. Part-time (25 - 30 hours per week across 4 days)

15. Gorseinon Campus
Key Responsibilities:
16. To provide one-to-one or small group support under lecturer direction as appropriate in the classroom setting.
17. To assist with the development of learners’ literacy and numeracy skills.
18. To assist with the pastoral care needs of learners and to direct learners to other college support mechanisms as necessary.
19. To provide learners with help in understanding oral and written instruction.
20. To assist with the co-ordination of learners’ work, record keeping and progress through liaison with lecturing and support staff at all levels within the College.
About you:
21. Maths and English GCSEs: A - C Grade or equivalent
22. Experience of working with young people in a similar job role
23. Knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with additional learning needs/learning difficulties
24. Confident, resilient, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
