About the role
Our vision is to help shape a Scotland where people living with chest, heart, stroke, long COVID and OHCA conditions can live their lives well. By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as an Advice Line Practitioner you will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with these conditions and to those who have witnessed or provided CPR for an out‑of‑hospital cardiac arrest. You will help families and health professionals adjust to life with these conditions.
Responsibilities
The role of the Advice Line Practitioner is to provide confidential, independent information, advice and support to people affected by chest, heart, stroke, long COVID illness and OHCA, their families, carers and health professionals.
Qualifications
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is organised and motivated, with good communication skills. Candidates must have a first‑level general nursing qualification or an equivalent healthcare professional registration and a minimum of 3 years post‑registration experience in either a hospital or community setting, working with people affected by at least one of our conditions.
Professional Development
At CHSS, we are committed to supporting continuing professional development through funding and training opportunities. We also offer a Professional Registration Network that provides a structured, supportive drop‑in environment to help healthcare professionals maintain their registration through ongoing learning, reflective practice and peer support.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
In line with our commitment to safeguarding, this role is subject to a PVG. CHSS is committed to equality of opportunity and to providing a service which is free from unfair and unlawful discrimination. We therefore aim to ensure that no applicant, volunteer or member of staff is unfairly treated on the grounds of offending background.
