Our Patient Services department at Ipswich Hospital currently has an opportunity for a Patient Services Team Leader. Continue your journey with us while we support you to be your best.
To provide effective and efficient administration within the Reception/Bookings and Enquiries team. To support the Patient Services Manager in the day-to-day running of the Reception and Outpatient Booking teams and to provide leadership in their absence.
As our Patient Services Team Leader, you will:
* Demonstrate behaviour, attitude, and outlook that support the Patient Services Manager, especially in setting standards and presenting a united front around business and strategic decisions.
* Show excellent customer service skills as part of the reception/bookings team.
* Ensure all administrative work within your area meets required standards and deadlines.
* Handle all enquiries or queries efficiently and escalate appropriately.
* Manage workloads, create schedules/rotas, approve time entries, and manage annual leave requests.
* Complete staff supervision tasks such as PDRs, one-to-ones, and other HR responsibilities.
* Manage the KPIs for the teams.
* Support the Enquiries team with call handling and quotations.
To succeed as a Patient Services Team Leader, you will need:
* Polite, professional demeanor with the ability to show empathy, acting as the patient's ambassador.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A positive outlook towards change, with adaptability and flexibility.
* Ability to review and improve admin processes.
* Skills to present in group meeting situations.
* Ability to work independently and take initiative.
* Previous team leadership experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
* Experience in a customer-facing environment.
* Computer literacy, including database management and MS Outlook skills.
* Ability to remain calm and take control of situations when necessary.
* Quick learning ability and retention of information.
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
