As we continue to adapt to the evolving needs of our communities and the regulatory environment, we are seeking a strategic and customer-focused Head of Housing Services to lead our housing management operations across our diverse portfolio.
This is a pivotal leadership role within our Customer Directorate, responsible for shaping and embedding a culture of customer-first service, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will ensure that Connexus not only meets but anticipates the requirements of the Regulator of Social Housing, Housing Ombudsman, and all relevant legislation, driving innovation and supporting thriving, sustainable communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and operational leadership for housing management services across approximately 9,000 properties.
* Oversee tenancy management, allocations, lettings, income collection, arrears management, tenancy sustainment, and anti-social behaviour interventions.
* Lead and develop a team of around 50 colleagues, including up to 5 direct reports, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory standards, and sector best practice.
* Drive innovation and service improvement to deliver efficient, responsive services that meet customer needs.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support thriving communities and customer wellbeing.
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators, taking timely action to address underperformance.
* Manage budgets effectively, ensuring value for money and financial sustainability.
What We’re Looking For
* Substantial experience in managing large-scale housing management services.
* Strong knowledge of housing law, regulation, and sector best practice.
* Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
* Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and delivering value for money.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
* CIH Level 5 qualification (or commitment to achieve).
* Full UK driving licence.
This role has been identified as suitable for hybrid working which will be a combination of home working and working from our offices, with Head office at Craven Arms and travel to other offices as required.
