Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join our team at Motherwell Health Centre. The post holder will provide a domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire premises through effective and efficient methods, delivering a safe and welcoming environment and meeting NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections standards. The role includes working alongside and supporting new staff in the working environment.
Location: PSSD Hotel Services department within Motherwell Health Centre. Working pattern: 16:45 – 20:00 Mon-Wed, 16:30–19:45 Thurs, 16:30–19:17 Fri. This is a part-time post; salary will be pro-rata.
Contract type: Permanent and Part Time (15.8 hours).

Responsibilities
* Provide domestic cleaning and related services to patients, staff and visitors in NHS Lanarkshire premises.
* Undertake and complete compulsory training and induction to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
* Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training and mandatory Health Care Support Workers standards.
* Complete the NHSS Domestic Services Workbook and maintain effective written and verbal communication.
* Work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team; carry out assigned tasks in a busy environment.
* Demonstrate working knowledge of basic information technology as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
* On-the-job training and induction (4–6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked) to achieve full competency.
* Ability to drive (if required by the role: note that where a driving licence is required it must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence).
* Recognised SVQ or relevant equivalent qualification (desirable).
* Experience working in a domestic services/cleaning environment (desirable).
* Ability to use a range of electrical cleaning equipment (desirable).
