* Sun: 14:15 – 23:15
* Mon: 05:30 – 14:30
* Tue: 14:15 – 23:15
* Fri: 05:30 – 14:30
* Sat: 14:15 – 23:15
Pay and hours
Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 per hour; this increases to £15.97 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
New colleagues are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; opportunities to work fewer hours (minimum of 12) are available as well.
We will schedule your contracted hours within the advertised availability, with 3 weeks’ notice of exact shifts. We are happy to support flexibility if your availability closely matches the advertised times.
Responsibilities
* Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers
* Supporting colleagues to deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks
* Opening and closing the store, managing duty cover, and ensuring decisions support safety
* Being the go-to person in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries
* Keeping the store clean, tidy, and well-presented
* Supporting managers to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events
* Contributing to a positive team atmosphere that is inclusive of everyone
* Providing great customer service by listening to customers and putting them first
* Keeping the team informed of communications, changes, or updates
* Staying knowledgeable about store performance and seeking improvements in operations
* Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to service
* Following health and safety routines and ensuring colleagues do the same
* Recognising and celebrating colleagues who provide great service
Qualifications and requirements
* To be a great role model by delivering thoughtful customer service that meets customers’ needs
* Build strong, long-lasting relationships with colleagues to foster an inclusive team
* Clear communicator, comfortable with multiple methods to keep the team informed
* Capable of leading the store in the absence of the Manager
* Good decision maker, flexible in thinking, and able to handle change to serve customers and colleagues
* Motivating leader who inspires the team to perform
* Curious, always seeking ideas to better serve customers, communities, and the planet
Age requirement: 18 or over to apply for this role.
