Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our residential children's home. We are looking for waking night staff. This vital role involves providing a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people, supporting their individual needs and development. The waking night needs to ensure safety and security for the young people living here. The nature of the role will mean involvement with the police and the local emergency social work team. The successful candidate will play a key part in helping children achieve their full potential through personalised care and positive engagement. Previous experience working with children is highly desirable, along with a genuine passion for making a difference in young lives.
Duties
* Building trusting relationships with children and young people, offering emotional support and guidance
* Implementing and updating individual care plans in collaboration with the team and external professionals
* Supporting children with their education and social development needs
* Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all residents during the night and adhering to safeguarding policies
* Maintaining accurate records of night activities, incidents, and progress reports
* Promoting positive behaviour through consistent boundaries and encouragement
* Participating in team meetings and ongoing training to enhance care practices
Experience
* Previous experience working with children or in a childcare setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
* Knowledge of child development and safeguarding procedures is desirable
* Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies
* Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
* Driving experience and a valid driving licence are preferred to facilitate outings and appointments
* A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently

Pay: £14.00 per hour
