The school is committed to fostering the growth and development of every pupil, particularly those with complex Special Educational Needs. This is an exciting chance to join a supportive and well-regarded school that prioritises the well-being and progress of all its students.
The Opportunity: An ELP Specialist in Bexley

You will work closely with specialist teachers and therapists to deliver a dynamic and accessible curriculum designed to help every pupil reach their full potential. The environment is collaborative and focused on creating bespoke learning journeys for each child, ensuring they feel secure, understood, and confident in their abilities.
Your Contribution: Making a Difference
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in the ELP, your key responsibilities will include:
Providing bespoke support aligned with pupils' complex SEN, including severe autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and significant communication challenges.
Assisting with personalised learning activities, adapting resources, and supporting the development of independence and life skills.
Implementing effective communication strategies, such as Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) or Makaton.
Working proactively with ELP staff and external professionals, ensuring a cohesive and multi-disciplinary approach to pupil support.
Implementing positive behaviour support plans for pupils with complex needs, creating a calm and supportive learning environment. Your patience and resilience will be key to helping pupils regulate their emotions and engage in their learning.
What We're Looking For: Your Profile
To be successful, you must have proven experience supporting primary-aged children with complex SEN, ideally within a similar ELP or specialist educational setting. You should have a strong understanding of various SEN diagnoses and an adaptable, patient, and resilient approach. Excellent interpersonal skills are also essential for working effectively with pupils, staff, and parents. We are looking for someone who is not only skilled but also deeply passionate about nurturing the potential in every child.
