Lead Software Engineer | Shape, Build, and Lead from Day One
Salary: Up to £130,000
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne (5 days on site)

What You'll Do
* Lead the design, development, and delivery of robust, scalable solutions
* Work closely with business users to deeply understand the problem space — not just the requirements
* Collaborate across functions and with clients to co-create solutions that deliver measurable value
* Challenge assumptions, drive innovation, and bring technical excellence to everything you do
* Stay ahead of emerging technologies and help shape our technical direction
* Empower and mentor a high-performing team of developers
What We’re Looking For
* Recent hands-on experience in C#/.Net or similar object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, Python)
* Strong proficiency with SQL and experience working with relational databases
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
* Proven ability to own projects end-to-end and thrive in fast-paced environments
* Passion for clean, maintainable code and modern software engineering practices
* Clear and professional communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Curiosity, positivity, and a drive to keep learning
* A 2:1 or above in Computer Science or related discipline — ideally from a Russell Group university
* Financial Services experience is a plus, but not a must
