Role and Responsibilities
Shape the future of radiology in Cranbrook as a General Radiologist at East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Your responsibilities include:
* Provide high-quality diagnostic radiology services using a broad spectrum of modalities and participate in a diverse range of non-vascular interventional procedures.
* Utilize the PACS system to ensure cohesive workflow and immediate access to patient data across affiliated hospitals and imaging clinics.
* Work with innovative technologies, including the Siemens Magnetom Aera 1.5T wide-bore MRI, and collaborate in the Nuclear Medicine Department with the recent SPECT CT upgrade; echocardiography and nuclear medicine expertise are valued.
* Contribute to teaching and mentoring through affiliation with UBC’s Faculty of Medicine, including CME sessions and bedside teaching with residents and medical students year-round.
* Engage in Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) initiatives supported by Doctors of BC to advance healthcare quality and clinical practice.
* Collaborate with a team to deliver outstanding diagnostic services and patient care in a supportive, professional environment.
Qualifications
* General radiologist with a broad skill set across diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures.
* Ability to participate in teaching and CME activities; interest in clinical education is encouraged.
* Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and commitment to high-quality patient care.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation
* Compensation Type: Fee-for-Service
* Estimated remuneration: around $600K annually, plus MOCAP level 1
Benefits and Incentives
* Vacation Leave with flexible scheduling
* Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) incentives including: Retention Premium 14%, Retention Flat Fee $21,696
* Relocation Funding: $9,000 within BC, $12,000 within Canada, $15,000 from outside Canada
* Recruitment Incentive: $20,000, prorated for part-time physicians
* RCME funds: $1,800 for up to 2 years, $4,800 in years 3–4, $7,800 after year 4, plus Doctors of BC CME funds
