An opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join the Specialist Network within the Perinatal CMHT Department. Our Medical Secretaries provide a highly valued service to the clinical team. We are looking for someone with proven secretarial skills to undertake the delivery of a comprehensive, high quality medical secretarial service to the consultants and medical staff within the team. Responsibilities
* Provide a comprehensive professional secretarial and administrative service to a team of consultants and junior doctors.
* Liaise effectively with team members and external agencies as required.
* Provide support to the MDTs which take place each week.
* Offer cover for annual leave and sickness for colleagues.
* Utilise a range of technical skills, including word processing, email/IT skills, audio transcription, live typing, and medical/pharmacological terminology.
* Work frequently without direct supervision and maintain confidentiality of patient information, respecting sensitivities related to mental health issues.
* Cover for absent colleagues when necessary for short periods (e.g., annual leave and short-term sickness).
Requirements
* Proven secretarial skills and ability to deliver a high-quality medical secretarial service.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to operate in a professional, confidential environment.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
