What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead and manage the site's maintenance function (ERF & MPT processes), ensuring high plant availability, compliance with environmental standards, and adherence to approved budgets.
* Oversee maintenance teams and contractors, coordinating with operations to optimise plant reliability, safety and efficiency while meeting KPIs and regulatory requirements (EA, HSE).
* Develop and implement maintenance strategies, including defect reviews, modifications, planned outages and budget proposals to enhance asset performance.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety policies, environmental regulations and site licences, while maintaining exceptional housekeeping and procedural standards.
* Manage team performance, including rotas, training and workload allocation, while fostering collaboration with operations and senior management.
* Act as an emergency responder, participating in standby rotas to address plant breakdowns or critical situations as required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
* Proven maintenance management experience in industrial/process plants (e.g., EfW, MPT, or heavy engineering), ensuring plant reliability, safety and regulatory compliance.
* Strong leadership skills – managing teams, contractors and budgets while maintaining HSE and environmental standards.
* Technical knowledge of PPM, asset management systems (e.g., HxGN EAM) and fault diagnostics to optimise plant performance.
* Excellent communication – liaising with operations, senior management and external stakeholders (e.g., EA, local councils).
Desirable
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., engineering HNC/HND, NEBOSH, or vocational training).
* Experience in waste‑to‑energy, ERF or MPT processes with knowledge of industry‑specific regulations.
* Project management background, including planned outages, modifications or capital improvements.
* Health & safety certifications (e.g., IOSH, environmental management systems).
