Job Specification Laser Operator We are seeking a skilled and motivated Laser Operator to join our production team. The role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC laser cutting machinery to produce precision components, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to customer specifications. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines according to production requirements. Read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications. Select and prepare appropriate materials for cutting. Carry out machine programming adjustments where required. Monitor cutting processes to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency. Perform routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of machinery. Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and quality. Record production data and complete job documentation. Work to production schedules to meet deadlines. Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies. Skills & Competencies Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail and quality standards. Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to use measuring tools (calipers, gauges). Team player with effective communication skills. Organised and able to prioritise workload in a busy environment. Experience & Qualifications Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting machines (e.g., Bystronic, Trumpf, Amada, or similar) desirable. Background in sheet metal, fabrication, or manufacturing preferred. Forklift or overhead crane licence beneficial (not essential). Working Conditions & Benefits 4-day working week : Monday Thursday, 7:30am to 5:30pm. Profit-related bonus scheme.
