The post is a Grade 3, salary range for the role based on full-time hours is £29,049 - £31,318 per annum. (Pro-rated for part-time roles) This key role will provide logistical support to the College operations. Please refer to the job Description and Further Particulars for further details. Key Responsibilities Support accommodation by carrying out small maintenance and repair jobs to include unblocking sinks, showers and toilets, doing minor repairs to furniture and equipment, changing light bulbs, rehanging curtains/blinds and any minor maintenance tasks as requested; move furniture and equipment around the College; assist the lodge with weekly checks of fire alarm call points across the College owned properties. Assist the College in its emergency procedures (fire marshalling, fire drills and similar) and record keeping. Set up teaching and conference rooms as requested, regularly checking teaching rooms’ furniture, to include routine stock checking, periodic inventories of furniture and equipment and identifying and reporting more complex faults. Associated duties to ensure the good order and safety of the College. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential criteria: A good level of education in a range of subjects including Maths and English. Good communication skills, both orally and in writing. Good inter-personal skills. Clean driving licence to attend off site work/duties. The ability to work independently and with a good level of personal organisation and accuracy. A professional and pro-active approach and an ability to work positively as a member of a team. Adaptable and flexible with the ability to deal with new situations as they arise and carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks. Ability to diagnose, assess and repair or replace components efficiently and to a high standard. Desirable criteria: Some knowledge of the College working environment with knowledge of Grade I and II listed buildings care. Experience in building maintenance, utilities, materials, components, H&S, CDM. Regulations, COSHH and first aid. Sound knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Safety legislation. Secure Bike Parking - bikes can be locked away securely on site. On site Gym- induction must be completed prior to use. Multifaith Room – available for staff and students. Discounted Guest Rooms - Staff may book a guest room at Jesus College at a discounted rate, subject to availability and terms and conditions.
