Maidstone area, Kent Salary: Negotiable depending on experience 6-month contract (with potential to go permanent)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer / MRP Planner to join an established and growing business based in the Maidstone area. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional to play a key role in supporting production and supply chain operations.
The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of parts and materials, supporting production targets while driving cost efficiency and supplier performance.
* Managing and progressing purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
* Analysing demand, forecasting requirements and managing stock levels
* Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships
* Negotiating pricing, contracts and long-term agreements
* Monitoring supplier performance, quality and delivery metrics
* Supporting cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
* Working closely with internal teams including production, engineering and finance
* Maintaining accurate procurement systems and reporting
About You
* Previous experience in a similar Buyer / Procurement / Supply Chain position
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* SAP experience an advantage
* Excellent organisational and communication abilities
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
