Whatever part you play youll be helping us deliver operational excellence to our customers.At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic componentsand wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.GKN Aerospace are searching qualified fitters to express an interest in working with GKN to operate as multi-skilled, flexible workers to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency within our areas. We are anticipating further uptake in the coming months and will be in touch to any successful applicants.Successful applicants will have a wideknowledge of hand and machine tools used in the aircraft industry including:Precussion rivetingDrill/Ream/Countersink in panels with Vanmar toolsSetting structures in build jigsDeburring of structuresFettling using approved setting toolsTreatment touch-up in localised areas on aluminiumUse of CNC pillar drills (DONAU)Part Marking + IdentifyingProfile description:How You'll Contribute Ensure parts are produced on a right first time basisEnsure that any calibrated equipment used is within dateResponsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP systemResponsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team LeaderAdhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality ProceduresAccountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval)What You'll Bring To help us make a difference, youll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:Essential:Must have a recognised indentured apprenticeship (level 3)Export Control understanding and regulatory requirementsAbility to work to standard operating proceduresDesirable:Previous manufacturing experience in an aircraft production environmentKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiativesWe offer:What We'll Offer Once youre on board youll get the following perks and benefits:?
Starting salary of £35,304 rising to £36,750 once fully certified (after around 3 months) + shift allowance where applicable (up to 33%) + Up to 4% Bonus?
