Abatec are seeking a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to support major infrastructure and marine engineering projects at one of the UK’s most strategically important naval bases. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-value, complex works within a secure environment, supporting national defence infrastructure. As a Quantity Surveyor you will: * Be part of a commercial team, reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor. * Be responsible for applications, subcontractor payments and inputting data. * Manage the commercial and contractual requirements of assigned projects. * Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost control strategies. * Liaise with project teams to ensure accurate valuations and applications for payment. * Conduct risk and value management and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. * Support the procurement process including subcontractor engagement, tender analysis, and contract administration. * Prepare and review variations, claims, and final accounts. * Ensure compliance with client requirements, contract conditions, and health and safety standards. * Support reporting and client communications with commercial insight and updates. Our client requires a Quantity Surveyor with: * Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying * Experience of working for a Civil Engineering contractor. * Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4 preferred). * Ability to work effectively within secure and highly regulated environments. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial management tools.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. * Experience working on MOD or government infrastructure projects. (Desirable) * SC (Security Clearance) or ability to obtain clearance. (Desirable) * Membership or progress toward membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS or CIOB).
