Brian Meehan Ltd is a busy and professional horse racing yard seeking a full time Accounts Manager to join our team. This is a key role within the business, and we are ideally looking for someone with a background in horse racing who understands the structure of the industry processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Processing weekly payroll, including collating and calculating staff overtime
2. Managing pool money and pension contributions
3. Maintaining accurate partnership account records
4. Preparing and submitting VAT returns to Weatherbys
5. Producing monthly invoices to owners
6. Analysing and monitoring veterinary and farrier charges
7. Maintaining and monitoring cash flow
8. Managing company accounts using Sage
9. Reconciling bank accounts
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
10. Previous accounts/bookkeeping experience (essential)
11. Experience within the horse racing industry (desirable)
12. Strong knowledge of Sage (essential)
13. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
14. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
