Overview
As a Transport Shift Supervisor, reporting to the Transport Shift Manager, you'll provide leadership, support, and direction to a team of Drivers.
Responsibilities
* Motivate and guide colleagues, using strong problem-solving skills to keep the transport operation running smoothly.
* Provide thorough handovers to your Shift Manager and fellow Supervisors, ensuring continuity across shifts.
* Brief and debrief drivers, ensuring they fully understand the instructions for their allocated runs.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support collections and deliveries.
* Review driver log sheets, ensuring all vehicle checks, defect reports, and damage/accident reports are completed in line with procedures.
Qualifications
* Experience collating driver-related reports, including Digi Tachograph information, and working with Health & Safety procedures for both site and drivers.
* Knowledge of route optimisation and strong day-to-day problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with TMS systems such as Isotrak, Tachomaster, Ortec, or similar.
* Strong IT skills, confident using Windows and Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
* The ability to motivate others, manage priorities effectively, and remain solution-focused—particularly when challenges arise.
* Previous logistics experience and experience working in a busy transport office (desirable).
