Job Overview
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY BETSI CADWALADR UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD.
This post is a fixed-term/secondment for 9 months to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pre-operative anaemia coordinator. Anaemia is associated with post-operative complications and poorer surgical outcomes. You will play a vital role in identifying patients early in their surgical pathway and work alongside pre-operative assessment, surgical, and anaesthetic teams to coordinate their treatment and optimisation prior to surgery.
Main duties of the job
You will be an experienced healthcare assistant who is keen to learn, organised, and has excellent communication skills. You will have successfully completed the Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Healthcare Practice. Good IT literacy is desirable, and a willingness to use digital systems is essential. While this is an initial fixed-term post, long-term funding has been secured, and the ideal candidate will be driven to develop this role and demonstrate value. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience in quality improvement. You will be well supported by an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team of nurses, pharmacists, and anaesthetists who will support your development.
Please contact the pre-operative assessment clinic (POAC) team for further information.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
