Role Overview
Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation? We’re seeking a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You will collaborate with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to implement significant legislative reforms. This role requires adaptability, self-motivation, and the ability to translate policy into action.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation related to workstreams such as Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, among others.
* Provide technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry partners.
* Drive reforms in waste management, shaping the future digital systems and policies for waste in England.
* Collaborate with dispersed teams across the country, utilizing smart tools for connectivity and reducing travel, with some travel and overnight stays possible.
The Team
You will be part of our Producer Responsibility Team, leading reforms to waste regulations to support resource conservation and waste minimization. This is a flexible, hybrid role with an EA Office base location. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
