Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) support children, young people, and their families linked to identified school settings. Each designated MHST collaborates with schools and agencies covering up to 7,000 children and young people. The service aims to cover 50% of schools across Kent and Medway by 2026, increasing early access to services and preventative provision.
We work with schools to support their development of a Whole School Approach (WSA) to emotional wellbeing and mental health, as well as curriculum content to teach mental health in the classroom.
Responsibilities include:
* Assessment and Treatment of Children and Young People under the MHST 3 Core functions (Targeted Intervention, Whole School Approach, and Consultation and Liaison)
* Working as part of a team with a set number of schools to deliver core components of the service
* Active participation in local and county-wide meetings and supervision forums
We are looking for Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) / Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP) to join the teams and develop the service further. Successful candidates will have a passion for participation and service development, with opportunities for research and co-production projects.
Benefits include:
* Exciting career prospects within MHST services
* Opportunities for skills development and career progression
* Good working relationships with universities and NHS England
We offer a comprehensive induction program, flexible working patterns, and a healthy work-life balance. Our values include being kind, respectful, and working together with our communities.
Note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for all job roles. Please check your eligibility under the UKVI points-based system.
