Compliance Lawyer Remote Working – with one day/week in Taunton office Solicitor, Legal Executive or Lawyer To £60k This well-established law firm specializing in personal injury, clinical negligence & industrial disease matters is looking to recruit into its dedicated compliance team About the role: The role is within the compliance team, reporting directly to the managing director to ensure all regulatory requirements are met. The position is designed for someone ideally with previous experience in legal compliance who can integrate quickly into the team and take on responsibilities with minimal training You will work largely remotely with one day per week in the Taunton office, with flexibility for part-time arrangements (4 days/week if needed) or compressed hours Responsibilities: Ensure regulatory compliance across the firm Support the firm in meeting its legal and regulatory obligations, including the SRA Standards and Regulations, sanctions compliance, AML, anti-bribery, data protection and GDPR Provide training to staff on compliance procedures, policies, regulatory changes and professional standards Monitor & fulfil Professional Indemnity & Insurer obligations Perform compliance risk assessments to evaluate the level, significance and scope of risks within the firm Manage client complaints, including investigating issues, recommending and implementing remedial actions Salary and benefits: Salary range of £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience Flexible working arrangements including part-time (four days per week is possible) Mainly remote working, with one day/week office attendance in Taunton 25 days holiday You will have some of the following: Ideally a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive, or experienced Compliance Lawyer Previous experience in a legal compliance role Detailed knowledge of the SRA Standards and Regulations and the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) Able to quickly understand the business, its objectives and its risk profile Experience dealing with data protection matters, including GDPR breaches and experience updating internal risk assessments ESSENTIAL: The ability to attend the Taunton office in person once a week What next?
