Overview

Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor 27.5 hours per week.

We are looking for a friendly and motivated individual to join our Occupational Therapy team at the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle as an Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor. The Technical Instructor will assist the Occupational Therapist to carry out delegated duties within the acute hospital team. They will supervise and instruct the patients in activities relating to their treatment programme and regularly feedback to the Occupational Therapist.

The service is part of a strong Occupational Therapy network with links to the team at the West Cumberland Hospital and the wider health and social care settings across North Cumbria. This provides many professional development opportunities and there is a strong focus on CPD within the team. Responsibilities

* Assist the Occupational Therapist to carry out delegated duties within the acute hospital team.
* Supervise and instruct patients in activities relating to their treatment programme and provide regular feedback to the Occupational Therapist.

Disclosure And Barring Service

On 28 November 2020, new DBS filtering rules came into effect. The changes mean that youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure; the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually. The Trust is committed to safeguarding Adults and Children. Therefore, if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended), the successful candidate will be subject to a Criminal Records Check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS will be met by the successful candidate via salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows where applicable:

* Standard Check: £21.50 + £5.90 administration = £27.40. Deducted from salary over 4 months or as a one-off payment.
* Enhanced Check: £49.50 + £5.90 administration = £55.40. Deducted from salary over 4 months or as a one-off payment.
