SEN Teaching Assistant * Liverpool -L9 * £24,570 - £25,935 per year- Term time only * Hours: 8.30am-4.30pm * Permanent * September start School Staffing Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a SEN school in Liverpool who support young people aged 8-19 years with a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties. Many of the young people are below age related expectations and are non verbal. We are seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join the school as a Teaching Assistant About the role: * Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach and through outdoor activities * Assist with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management * Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning * Interaction with parents/care givers on a regular basis Our ideal candidate will: * Have Maths and English GCSE grade C/Level 4 or equivalent * Be committed and passionate about supporting young people with SEND particularly ASC and assocated behaviours * Have at least two years’ experience minimum working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision * Ideally have level 3 TA qualification (desireable) * Committed to putting the needs of the young people first * Understanding of safeguarding procedures and policies * Have experience of Makaton or PECs (desireable) Benefits: * Enhanced pension scheme * Enhanced maternity and paternity pay * Access to a blue light discount card * Fully funded training and qualifications for all colleagues * Enhanced pay scales based on experience and qualifications * Employee benefits scheme such as wellbeing app and a range of discounts * Life assurance If you live in Liverpool and are seeking a new role for September supporting young people with SEND then please call Jennifer on (phone number removed) for more information.
