An exciting opportunity exists to join a growing team in a residential dementia Care Home for a maximum of 38 residents we are based in Woolton Hill in Newbury set in tranquil surroundings.
The ideal applicant will have held a similar position and be able to produce high quality, freshy cooked food for our residents whilst taking into consideration their dietary requirements.
You will lead the catering team alongside the Registered Manager and take responsibility for ensuring the kitchen is in a clean and in safe condition. You must have knowledge of Safer Food Better Business, Dysphagia and Allergen compliance. Full training can/will be provided.
The role requires you to place orders and create nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced seasonal menus, actively working with residents to tailor menus around them and at the same time working towards managing costs sensibly.
The role is a full-time position of 40hrs per week over five days 8am-4pm weekend on weekend off.
Role responsibilities and requirements:
Ø To deliver and provide food & beverages for the residents to the highest standard
Ø To prepare fresh, seasonal, traditional and speciality style menus from fresh ingredients
Ø To keep the Manager informed of any issues concerning the management of the department.
Ø Implement and maintain statutory and company standards of hygiene, food safety and health & safety.
Ø To order foodstuffs and supplies required to meet the service provision
Ø Production of new menu cycle and theme menus
Ø A "can do" attitude
Ø Previous experience in a care environment
Ø Hold a cooking qualification, or equivalent experience and knowledge
Ø The ability to ensure temperature testing of foods and storage areas are carried out as required and accurate records are maintained
Ø Experience of monitoring stock levels, ensuring that stock is regularly rotated and maintained
Ø Possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a small team
