MSK Lead Podiatry

A exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced or aspiring leader to join the team leadership team within the Bury Podiatry Service.
The Bury podiatry team consists of over 10 clinical staff. The service operates across community and acute locations delivering MSK podiatry, foot‑care, and high risk foot management both in clinics, on wards and in domiciliary locations.
Main duties of the job
* Provide professional and operational leadership while managing your own designated MSK clinical caseload, with a job plan split of 60/40 between MSK and team leader activities.
* Analyse data, monitor waiting times and timetable staff to meet departmental and clinical pathway needs; support compliance against key performance indicators.
* Manage everyday operational issues for the designated team within Trust corporate and clinical governance frameworks to deliver a safe and effective Podiatry Service based on national guidance, Trust policies and evidence‑based practice.
* Participate in recruitment, selection and induction of new starters.

Qualifications
* Degree in Podiatry
* Local Anaesthetics Certificate
* Injection therapies qualification
Professional registration
* HCPC registration
* Member of the relevant professional body
* Clinical Educators accreditation
Knowledge, training and experience
* Highly specialist knowledge of musculoskeletal patient care at the highest level, including biomechanical and pathomechanical conditions.
* Experience in the provision and production of offloading devices.
* In‑depth specialist knowledge of high risk patient care, including diabetes, wound care, rheumatology and PAD.
* Experience in audit and evaluation.
* Knowledge of national standards in the management of musculoskeletal conditions.
* Able to remain calm while under pressure.
* Experience supervising other staff and students.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Exercise individual responsibility and judgement.
* Previous experience undertaking a band 7 role.
* NHS Leadership courses or programmes.
Skills and Abilities
* Advanced clinical reasoning skills in podiatry.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to present information clearly and logically.
* Teaching, supervisory and appraisal skills with regular experience.
* Proven organisational skills including time management, effective delegation, prioritisation and the ability to complete tasks.
* Self‑motivated and able to lead and motivate others within a team.
* Ability to work autonomously in a specialist clinical area.
* Comprehend and work within the Trust’s policies on data protection, equal opportunities and health and safety to meet differing patient needs.
* Willingness to travel to different locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
* Full UK driving licence with willingness to use own car for work purposes.
* Ability to work within a stressful and unpredictable environment.
