This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lecturer to play a pivotal role in delivering the MA Communication Design course at Winchester School of Arts. We seek a motivated individual passionate about creative thinking, experimental design practices, systems thinking, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and a deep understanding of the critical role of design in advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They should be proficient in both traditional and emerging visual technologies, leveraging these skills to drive sustainable, inclusive, and innovative design solutions addressing global challenges.
Balancing teaching and research responsibilities, you will lead in delivering and assessing key communication design topics for the MA Communication Design programme. You will also engage in high-quality research aligned with your teaching and support administrative tasks and student support at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You will be active in the broad area of communication design, providing expertise and research capability in areas such as:
* Design thinking
* UX design
* Experimental Publishing
* Creative coding
* SMART design
* Immersive/Sensory experiences
* Collaborative provision
Knowledge of digital/smart technologies, interdisciplinary approaches, and collaborative practice would be advantageous and complement the department's research base.
You should have enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students through workshops, lectures, and seminars, with a keen interest in research-led teaching. You should demonstrate a strong research portfolio relevant to the field, including emerging areas of interest; contribute to high-quality research; participate in postgraduate supervision; and engage with research funding applications and external research communities. The school encourages research collaboration and interdisciplinary work.
