Tomlinson is currently looking at hiring a Roll Off Driver for our Cornwall shop on Boundary Road. This driver is responsible for the safe and efficient collection and disposal of waste for our clients in the Cornwall and surrounding area.
LOCATION: 120 Boundary Road, Cornwall
The AZ or DZ Driver, Roll Off is responsible for the safe and efficient collection and disposal of waste.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operate and drive a DZ Roll Off Truck to transport waste and recycling materials throughout the City of Cornwall and surrounding area.
2. Operate and tow an AZ Roll off Pup Trailer to transport waste and recycling materials throughout the city of Cornwall and surrounding area.
3. Transport waste and recycling material to disposal, transfer or recycling facility
4. Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, and brakes
5. Ensure safety requirements are followed in accordance with company policy
6. Provide excellent customer service
7. Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computer
WORKING CONDITIONS
8. Long periods of driving and sitting
9. Available to start work as early as 5:00 AM until route completion
10. Must be available to work 5 days a week, including some weekends and statutory holidays
11. Bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, extreme weather, noise and strong odors
12. Must have steel toed boots
13. Comfortable working alone
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
14. Must have a valid Ontario AZ or DZ drivers’ License
15. 1-2 years’ experience, ideally in waste collection or similar industry
16. Knowledge of the city and area an asset
17. Ability to multitask
18. Have good decision-making skills
19. Must be a team player with a positive outlook
