World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit 3x Mechanical Design Engineer subcontractors on an initial 6 month contract. This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer who comes from a strong Defence or Aerospace background has strong Creo / PRO-E skills. Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Rate: £50.00 per hour Location: Your base site can be either Stevenage or Bristol, depending on your preference Hybrid / Remote working: 4 days per week onsite and 1 day remote (flexible on start and finish time) Contract: 37 Hours per week Overtime: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at ‘time and a quarter’ Duration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter) IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella) Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description: An opportunity to become part of Europe’s No. 1 Missile Systems Designer, as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Responsibilities: Carry out Mechanical Design and proving activities as part of a wider team for prime and variant products, of both piece parts and assemblies. Support/liaise with manufacturing, resolving manufacturing problems & defects. Support to functional & environmental testing and trials. Liaise with suppliers/purchasing to resolve any technical queries that may arise. Planning and reporting on own day-to-day activities to meet project milestones.
