Some kids just need school to work differently. Not because they can’t learn. Not because they don’t care. It’s because the usual way of doing things – 30 kids, one teacher, a rigid timetable – just doesn’t work for them. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for an English Intervention Teacher to work in specialist learning hubs around the Nottinghamshire area. These hubs are calm, small-group environments designed to help kids re-engage with education. Your job is to help them get their confidence back, build their skills, and – ideally – enjoy learning again. You won’t be juggling 30 kids. Most sessions are 1:1 or 4–8 students. You’ll actually have time to teach, not just manage behaviour. Some students have gaps in their learning. Some need emotional support before they can even focus on English. But when they start turning up, tuning in, and making progress because of you – that’s the reward. The deal: * Long-term, full-time role (September start – we’ll wait for the right person) * £150–£180 a day * Based in specialist hubs (not mainstream classrooms) * A supportive, child-focused team What you’ll need: * QTS or PGCE * The ability to teach English flexibly across ages and abilities * Patience, creativity, and resilience – these kids will test you before they trust you * A willingness to adapt – because what works in a normal classroom often doesn’t here If you want to stick to the script and churn through lesson plans, this probably isn’t for you. If you want to teach in a way that actually helps kids reconnect with learning – with the time, space, and support to do it properly – it probably is. Come and meet the team, see the hubs, and find out if it’s for you. Apply now – and teach the way you always thought you would
