Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geotechnical engineering and will be responsible for leading projects from conception through to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, and construction practices, along with proficiency in various engineering software tools. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
* Lead geotechnical investigations and assessments for various projects, including site characterisation and soil sampling.
* Design foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks using advanced engineering principles.
* Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations based on site conditions.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs.
* Utilise software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, Mathcad, and ArcGIS for design and analysis tasks.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
* Conduct land surveying as required to support project needs.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
* Review schematics and system designs to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Experience
* A degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field is essential; a Master's degree is preferred.
* Significant experience in geotechnical engineering with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
* Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other relevant engineering tools (Mathcad, Revit, MicroStation).
* Strong understanding of construction practices and land surveying techniques.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to solve complex engineering problems effectively.
* Exceptional communication skills for liaising with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
