Looking for a role where you can get stuck in, develop your skills, and be part of a genuinely supportive team?
We’re working with a well-established manufacturing business who are looking to bring in a Workshop Welder / Machinist to join their close-knit team. This is a hands-on role where no two days are quite the same – perfect for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in producing quality work.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll split your time across welding and machining, working on a range of fabricated components and supporting the day-to-day running of the workshop.
1. MIG welding on mild and stainless-steel components
2. Supporting machining activities (lathes, mills, band saws)
3. Working from engineering drawings and technical diagrams
4. Checking quality of finished products and ensuring high standards
5. Collaborating with the wider workshop team to meet production targets
6. Keeping the workspace safe, organised and efficient
(Full training on machining can be provided if you have a stronger welding background)
What we’re looking for
7. Experience in MIG welding (essential)
8. Previous experience in a manufacturing/workshop environment
9. Ability to use machinery – manual lathes, mills
10. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
11. Ideally qualification in mechanical engineering or similar
12. A proactive, team-focused attitude
13. Someone who takes pride in their work and wants to improve
Why apply?
14. £30–32k basic + regular overtime available
15. Monday to Friday hours – no weekends
16. 25 days holiday + bank holidays
17. Supportive, down-to-earth team environment
18. Genuine opportunity to learn new skills and upskill in machining
19. A stable business that invests in its people
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, part of a team, and wants to build a long-term career in engineering/manufacturing.
