Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role:
* Lead on complex child protection, safeguarding, and court proceedings, ensuring timely and effective interventions in line with statutory responsibilities.
* Provide professional supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice sessions for social workers, including support for those completing the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
* Champion systemic and relational practice approaches, supporting families to achieve sustainable change through strength-based interventions.
* Facilitate multi-agency collaboration and chair strategy meetings to ensure coordinated and child-focused planning.
* Support the operational delivery of the team by holding a reduced caseload and offering expert guidance on high-risk and high-complexity cases.
* Contribute to service development through quality assurance audits, thematic reviews, and implementation of best practice models.
* Act as a practice lead in embedding the local authority’s vision of “right child, right support, right time, every time.”
* Ensure compliance with the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018, and other relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
Requirements
* Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
* Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
