We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Sheet Metal Worker to join a leading and growing manufacturing company based near Christchurch.
Introduction
The primary role of the Sheet Metal Worker will involve working with thin gauge aluminium.
Responsibilities:
1. Shrinking, stretching and rolling of sheet metal
2. Fabricating and assembling sheet metal products
3. Setting up and operating fabricating machines as well as hand tools to cut, bend and straighten
4. Shaping over anvils, blocks or forms
5. Inspecting, assembling and smoothing seams and joints of welded, brazed or burr surfaces
6. Work in accordance with all H&S procedures and processes
7. Support in training of employees as required
Ideal Experience:
Preferably experience within the aerospace industry with thin gauge aluminium experience. For candidates without previous or current aerospace experience, but possessing excellent sheet metal skills and experience working with thin gauge sheet metal in other sectors, with the right attitude and willingness to develop into aerospace, please also apply. There will be an opportunity to develop your skills for the right candidate.
Hours: 37 hours per week, which can be worked across 4 days or 4.5 days
Overtime: Paid at Time and a Half
* Flexible hours, plus 4 or 4.5 days per week
