Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: Parkside House School – Ashington (NE63 8AP) & Backworth (NE27 0AB)

Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 08.30am - 16.30pm

Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)

Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

Role We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Parkside House School. You will deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, hold an OT caseload with support, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required. This post suits a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual who supports a person-centred approach and safeguarding culture across our settings.

Location Parkside House School forms part of our Acorn Education brand and is an independent specialist day school for children aged 11–19.

Essential Criteria

* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* Valid and up to date HCPC Registration
* Registered member of RCOT
* Relevant experience in providing occupational therapy services within a similar setting is preferrable
* Experience with neurodivergent individuals and/or learning difficulties and/or socio-emotional and mental health difficulties with transferable skills
* Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and practical application to support independence
* Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality preferred
* Ability to work independently, flexible and confident
* Clear and concise report writing skills
* Hold a full UK driving licence, with access to a car
* Interest in sensory integration or SI practice (training in progress or completed preferred, but not essential)
