Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home Location: Nelson Salary: £50,000 - £52,000 per annum Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Overview: A new, purpose-built 4-bed children's home in Nelson is opening soon, supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead the home from pre-registration through to successful operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up or an existing Registered Manager seeking a new challenge. Key Responsibilities: Lead the registration, setup, and ongoing management of the home Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards Build and manage a strong, child-focused staff team Promote a therapeutic environment using the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) Collaborate with an on-site Mental Health Practitioner (1 day per week) Oversee safeguarding, care planning, and risk management Build positive relationships with children, staff, families, and external agencies Requirements: At least 2 years' experience within the last 5 years working in a position relevant to the residential care of children At least 1 year in a role supervising and managing staff in a children's residential setting (e.g. Deputy or Registered Manager) Achieved or working towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) Full working knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation Proven leadership, communication, and team management skills Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Benefits Competitive salary up to £52,000 per annum Opportunity to shape and lead a brand-new service Ongoing professional development and training Supportive senior leadership team and external clinical input INDHSMC Leader Recruitment Group is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
