Overview
As the Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you08ll be responsible for ensuring the property, grounds and facilities are well-maintained and in good condition. You09ll lead a team and work closely with the General Manager to manage the annual maintenance budget. This role involves a variety of tasks, from fixing minor issues to overseeing larger projects, and creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the care home building, grounds and facilities are clean, well-maintained and fit for purpose.
* Carry out a range of maintenance tasks, including fixing leaks, and liaising with contractors as needed.
* Lead a maintenance team and support the General Manager with annual budget planning.
* liaise with contractors on jobs outside the team4s expertise and coordinate external works as required.
* Maintain a safe environment and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
About You / Qualifications
* Hands-on property maintenance experience with at least one trade skill.
* A full UK driving licence and IT literacy.
* GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team; reliable and flexible with working hours.
