Overview
Artistic Design Director - Luxury Product Design, Sculptures, Installations. This role leads the creative direction for a globally celebrated brand at the intersection of luxury design, fashion, art, and culture.
At David Harber, we create award-winning, hand-crafted sculptures that redefine luxury spaces worldwide. The Design Director guides the creative direction of New, Bespoke, and Classic collections, inspires a talented team, and represents the brand to international audiences.
Responsibilities
* Lead the full design process from research and ideation to concept, development, and innovation for New, Bespoke, and Classic collections.
* Translate the founder’s creative direction into elegant, commercially viable products that honor the brand legacy.
* Inspire and manage the creative team, fostering curiosity, pushing boundaries, and driving exceptional results across Engineering, Operations, and Marketing.
* Act as a global ambassador for the brand, representing David Harber at UK and international design events; build influential networks and secure high-profile collaborations.
* Lead multiple projects from sketch to proposal with precision and flair; transform client briefs into inspiring bespoke proposals; experiment with materials and finishes.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to guide the business strategy and maintain design excellence as a core differentiator.
About the Company
David Harber Ltd is a family-owned, multi-award-winning designer of luxurious, hand-crafted sculptures whose works have graced prestigious addresses worldwide. Each piece is crafted by hand on site in rural Oxfordshire.
Location & Working Model
Didcot, Oxfordshire HQ (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office) with minimum six international trips per year to represent the brand globally.
What You’ll Bring / Qualifications
* Degree in visual or product design (or equivalent experience) with extensive senior-level expertise, ideally in the luxury sector.
* Strong grasp of historical, classical, and contemporary design; ability to balance creativity with commercial awareness.
* Excellent client-facing communication, storytelling, and networking skills; proven experience leading, motivating, and developing a creative team.
* Positive, open leadership style with the ability to inspire clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

You will shape David Harber’s creative vision, transform client briefs into bespoke proposals, and lead the design of products that keep the Classic range vital while pursuing new concepts.
