Daniel Owen is proud to represent a local authority in South London seeking X3 Heads of Service for interim roles to help mobilise their Repairs, Damp and Mould, Disrepair, Void, and Commercial functions.
We are looking for an experienced Head of Service responsible for the successful operational delivery of various work streams, including Social Housing Refurbishment, Repairs, Voids, Damp & Mould, Disrepair, and Commercial functions across the Council.
Duties:
* Take full responsibility and accountability for the operational delivery of work streams including Social Housing Refurbishment, Repairs, Voids, Damp & Mould, Disrepair, and Commercial programs.
* Manage operations across different workstreams, including full supply chain management to meet business objectives and customer needs.
* Manage approved contractors to meet service demands, including procurement, commissioning, appointment, and management in line with contract rules and standard terms.
* Improve efficiency and output of repairs and maintenance services, enhancing reputation with customers and stakeholders.
* Ensure accurate cost information for projects and risks, and effective recovery of claims and costs.
* Review and authorize Sub-Contract payments within delegated authority, with commercial management awareness.
* Record work-in-progress, conduct inspections, and compile improvement plans as needed.
* Provide timely reports on project performance, including statistical and qualitative data on service indicators, progress, and budgets.
* Stay updated on contract management practices, standards, and legislation to ensure compliance and best practices.
* Represent the company and liaise with stakeholders; stand in for the Head of Minor Works and Compliance when required.
* Collaborate across teams to achieve high-quality outcomes for the company and clients.
* Develop new solutions and models to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
* Promote a positive culture focused on health, safety, and well-being.
* Provide strategic and operational updates to the Board and contribute to wider decision-making.
* Model behaviors aligned with company values.
* Communicate vision and goals clearly to teams, ensuring understanding of their roles in business success.
