 
        
        Position Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Building Craftsperson to work at Wansbeck General Hospital. The successful candidate will work alongside the team to maintain the main hospital site and community hospitals in Blyth, Alnwick, Berwick and Rothbury. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and includes participation in the emergency maintenance on‑call rota.
Responsibilities
 * Day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of all building fabric within the Trust and non‑Trust properties, including installation work.
 * Participate in the Estates on‑call rota and undertake essential out‑of‑hours duties as directed.
 * Provide skilled joinery provision for the Estates Department to all client departments and business units.
 * Organise and prioritise own workload, working unsupervised when required.
 * Role‑model compassionate and inclusive leadership, engaging, enabling and empowering others, using coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement, and facilitating team working across organisational boundaries.
Qualifications & Requirements
 * Significant experience in building services and facilities maintenance.
 * Ability to handle conflicting priorities, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks independently.
 * Computer literate with strong verbal and written communication skills.
 * Good interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with both technical and non‑technical personnel within and beyond the organisation.
 * A fit and proper person to meet statutory checks as required by the Trust.
