delighted to be supporting one of our clients with the recruitment of a Finance Business Partner on an initial 3-month basis.
The purpose of the post is to provide high quality finance business partnering support for the business.
Successful candidates must have knowledge of the rules surrounding Council Housing accounting.
What you'll be doing:
1. Provide finance business partnering to support the organisational transformation that is taking place.
2. Build strong working relationships with budget managers by spending time working closely with services to enhance the finance offer.
3. Provide training to budget managers to embed a self-service approach to annual financial cycle activity.
4. Ensure that systems and processes are as automated as possible to support the self-service approach Support the annual budget setting process, working with Lead Accountants
5. Assist the budget monitoring process, with responsibility for supporting service managers and Chief Officers.
6. Ensure that the Councils financial instructions including contract standing orders are adhered to in the organisation.
7. Assist with the production of the Council's Financial Statements, Whole of Government Accounts and the external audit.
8. Prepare and calculate financial information for statistical returns.
9. Assist with the preparation for and implementation of changes to accounting regulations.
About you:
10. Experience of working in a finance environment.
11. Wide knowledge and experience of a professional finance environment preferably within the public sector.
12. CCAB qualification or level 7 equivalent eg Finance Business Partner
13. Understanding of a Local Authority annual planning and performance monitoring cycle and knowledge of financial reporting requirements.
14. Experience of providing financial management information for organisations going through complex change programmes.
