Children & Young People's Support Worker Salary: £24,480 - £13.45 per hour Location: Covering all of the Gwent region (based in Torfaen, with agile working) Contract: Temporary until 31st March 2026 Hours: 35 hours per week (mainly Monday-Friday, flexible working available) Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence? We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Children & Young People's Support Worker to provide specialist, trauma-informed support to young people aged 11-18 who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse, or who may be at high risk of harm. PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION, DUE TO FUNDING, UNTIL THE END OF MARCH 2026 YOU WILL NEED ACCESS TO A VEHICLE COVERING THE GWENT REGION A DBS ON THE UPDATE SERVICE IS ESSENTIAL The role: Deliver 1:1 and group-based support programmes in a trauma-informed, empowering way Carry out person-led risk and needs assessments and develop tailored support plans Advocate for young people within multi-agency settings Support families to build safe, resilient and healthy relationships Work collaboratively with partner agencies across health, education, housing and youth services Maintain accurate records and contribute to service evaluation and development About you: Experience supporting children and/or young people, ideally within VAWDASV or complex needs settings Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding Confident building trusted relationships and engaging young people meaningfully Organised, reflective and able to manage a varied caseload Passionate about empowering young people and promoting their voices This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of an innovative service that puts children and young people at the centre of everything it does, while working flexibly across the Gwent area.
