Join to apply for the Teacher of English role at Delta Academies Trust.
Salary MPR / UPR: £32,916 to £51,048.
De Warenne Academy offers an exciting teaching opportunity for an outstanding, committed and motivated qualified teacher to contribute to the development of teaching, learning and curriculum in our English department. The role starts in December 2025 on a full‑time, temporary basis until August 2026. This is an ideal opportunity for a classroom practitioner who can display a real passion for developing and inspiring the pupils in their care.
Applications are welcome from both newly qualified teachers and experienced professionals. Our aim is for all our students to learn in a positive, safe and supportive environment where academic achievement is celebrated and effort and attitude to learning are rewarded.
Since our OFSTED inspection in October 2021, which deemed De Warenne a ‘Good’ school in all areas, GCSE results have shown continuous improvement year on year. The class of 2024 left our Academy with fantastic results; 54% of students gained a grade 5 or above in both English and maths – the highest attainment in the history of the Academy – making it one of the highest attaining schools in Doncaster.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with academic, vocational and technical subjects offered to all our students, and we deliver a rich and varied personal development curriculum. We provide a wide range of enrichment activities to unearth a variety of strengths and talent, which we strongly encourage students to take part in. We also take learning beyond the classroom with events and educational visits running throughout the year. We serve the villages of Conisbrough and Denaby Main, situated between Doncaster and Rotherham.
We benefit from a recently built academy situated in spacious grounds with excellent facilities, including a recently built 3g astroturf pitch.
Our staff are talented and enthusiastic and have all contributed to the academy’s success story. We have a staff rewards budget and socialise both as subject teams and as a whole staff. We also have access to a staff benefits scheme.
At De Warenne, we value the continuous professional development of all our employees and recognise that our staff and students are most successful when they feel happy, valued, challenged and supported to achieve their very best.
Our senior leadership team, along with our dedicated teachers and support staff, is committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for every child in our care. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team within a high‑performing multi‑academy trust with exciting career prospects for successful applicants.
Visits to the academy would be warmly welcomed by appointment. Please contact the academy on 01709 864001 if you would like to arrange a visit.
In accordance with DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education, an online search will be completed on all shortlisted applicants prior to interview. Any relevant information will be discussed further with the applicant during the recruitment process.
