A unique opportunity to support staff and work within occupational health to promote good health for staff, prevent ill health and protect staff whilst at work Our work is varied and you will gain a tremendous amount of experience to progress your career in both case management and proactive initiatives that support the growing occupational health model. You assist in the mentorship scheme for the OHA development programme. You will have access to training to develop your expertise in assessments for NHS staff from a variety of occupations and our corporate clients.
A short description of the team they will be joining
We have a great new opportunity for a Band 7 mental health nurse specialist to join us at the Employee wellbeing Service at Barts Health. You will be working with an established, friendly team that offers an innovative model to preventative health for all Barts staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team of occupational health specialists.
Main duties of the job
A brief and specific description of what they will be doing
• Work flexibly remotely and onsite
• Providing specialst mental health advice to managers and staff.
• Be a case manager for management referrals, including complex dependent on experience. Current model of no more than 5 management referrals per day
• To provide clinical advice for colleagues on mental issues
• Take part in peer audit with regular access to teaching from experienced OHAs
• Have access to clinical supervision with the EWS psychologist and a multi-disciplinary team
• Support the other band 7s to manage a small team of OH advisors

1. RMN, Degree/Diploma in mental health nursing (E)
2. Registered with NMC (E)
3. Post graduate qualification of relevant specialty (E)
4. OH qualification (D)
5. RGN Degree/Diploma (D)
6. Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation (E)
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Significant experience in Mental Health Nursing post registration (E)
8. Appropriate, senior level relevant experience with adults of working age equivalent to master’s level (E)
9. Experience of researching and drafting new policies and procedures (E)
10. Experience of independent assessments of clients with mental health needs (D)
11. Experience of working in Occupational Health (D)
